Sleepy in Anjuna
I spent yesterday checking out town and the beach. It seems like a nice place with tons of eating and drinking options. I asked a shop keeper if the numbers of tourists was low compared to usual levels. She said it was less than 50% of a normal year. The tsunami is one reason, but numbers were low even prior to that. Regardless I am happy with the situation as there are many places to stay and prices are cheap. Also it has made this place very relaxing - which is not exactly what I was expecting. I had planned to head down to Palolem for some chill beach time, but I think it actually may be busier than Anjuna. I am hoping the Aussie girls I met on the train email me from Palolem so I get the 411 on how it is at the moment.
We had another delicious dinner and went to the Shore Bar last night for a beer and to see what was up party-wise. There were two psy parties last night in Vagator (3km away), but I was kind of tired so we ended going to bed at 10pm...lol...you know you are getting old when you choose sleep over going to a party.
There is going to be a party down on the beach on Wed from 10pm till sunrise - so I think we will check it out as the location is beautiful.
I had my first "western" food so far in India this AM - scrambled eggs and toast. Apparently you can't get chicken curry and naan at 10AM!
Well I am off to hang out on the beach, do some yoga and listen to some psy - I know it is a hard life, but someone has to do it!

Hey - I just wrote you back, but the message is on my blog. I'm still new to the blog thing, I don't know all of the proper edicate...
Enjoy the sun today and remember all the stars that are there even if you can't see them.
Namaste. Oh Vik, I envy you so! Lair and I had a blast in Anjuna. We rented a scooter from the place we stayed - well worth it. We road into Vagatar almost dailey (That's where our tailor was).
In anjuna, we ate almost dailey at a restaurant called 'Munchies', it's open 24/7. There is no booze there but they have a jiuce bar.... MMmmm... well worth it!
Re: Anjuna Beach - We enjoyed lounging in front of the bar beside the Shore Bar (Facing the bars - to the left). They either played Psy or Bob Marley. Last year I met a guy ho worked their named "Bobbi" He seemed to know what was going on when and where.
Anjuna Market (Wednesday) is worth checking out once. It makes for a long day though.
You must go to Club Paradiso in Anjuna - insane decor/architecture. That was where I had the most fun (on Lairs birthday).
Nightly - if you go to Vagatar, go to the Nine bar, I believe it is open from 5pm-10pm. That is where people gather prior to a party. So you can ask around and if there is a party that night you will find out where. Most people then go home and sleep for a few hours then hit up the party. There is a shop on the corner before you turn to the Nine bar - at night she has blacklights up and spacetribe clothing - her boyfriend throws partys - if it's the same girl she's good to talk to for information.
During the day - just follow your ears, if you are lucky you will find a daytime party.
While we were there we never made it to any parties in the Bamboo Forrest :( so please make an effort to do so, so you can tell me about it!! >:)
Well dear - that is all I can think of at the moment. I will re-read my travel journel and write some more.
Love & Light dear friend.
